Revival Days This Summer!

A REPORT FROM DR. RICK FLANDERS
The summer months of 2016 have afforded unusual and remarkable opportunities for me to spread the Gospel, and to teach and preach revival truth in strategic places. Thank you for your role in this ministry by prayer. Let me sum up briefly where I went.
• JUNE 26-29—BRENTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH, Des Plaines, Illinois. A graciously blessed set of revival meetings that we wished we could have continued. Many victories. Pray for this church.
• JULY 3—GREATER CUMBERLAND BAPTIST CHURCH, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Revival sermons at the site of the National Conference on Prayer and Revival, the church led by Pastor Ken Shaver.
• JULY 10—ONTONAGON BAPTIST CHURCH, Ontonagon, Michigan (on Lake Superior, way up north!). Preached Sunday morning on partnering with Christ.
• JULY 17—LANDMARK BAPTIST CHURCH, Clio, Michigan. Preached from passages that inspire us to see our great potential in Christ. Coming back for revival meetings this fall.
• JULY 24—FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH, Clarklake, Michigan. Here is a church passionate for God, where I got to speak on amazing revival scriptures. Returning in the fall for tent meetings.
• JULY 18, JULY 25, AUGUST 1, AUGUST 8, AUGUST 15—BRIDGEPORT REVIVAL SEMINAR, Monday sessions teaching Bible, revival doctrine, and Christian history, five consecutive weeks at the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, Michigan. Contact me, and I can send you the outlines!
• JULY 30-31—MELVIN BAPTIST CHURCH, Melvin, MI, Men’s Conference and Sunday services. Gave two sermons to men gathered for a conference on Saturday, one on going to church and the other about the connection between a man’s prayer life and his family life. Several others preached, too, and the Lord did important things in our hearts. Good day in church on Sunday.
• AUGUST 3—IMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH, Corunna, Michigan. Had a chance this Wednesday night to speak about prayer and fasting from Matthew 17 to a congregation ready to seek the Lord for revival!
• AUGUST 7—BETH HAVEN BAPTIST CHURCH, Sheridan, Michigan (near Greenville). Preached at this good church in the pastor’s absence. He was helping a church they are planting in Arizona.
• AUGUST 14—FOSTORIA BAPTIST CHURCH, Fostoria, Michigan, Anniversary Sunday. God had me preach on the church, its purpose, its meetings, and its unlimited potential.
• AUGUST 21-25—GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Revival campaign. This was our ninth time for meetings at this great church. Important decisions among believers each day.
• AUGUST 28—CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH, Covington, Georgia. A day to focus on revival in the church, which is now pastored by my friend, Billy Ingram, who himself is a revivalist. Met with the men at 8 a.m. for prayer, taught Sunday school on praying for revival, and preached all day on the Holy Spirit as the well within that can overflow in rivers of living water. A wonderful day!
Looking ahead, make sure that you are praying for us as we sow the truth in these places in the coming days and weeks:
• LaGrange Baptist Church, LaGrange, Indiana, September 4 (Labor Day weekend);
• CoBeAc Baptist Bible Institute (revival meetings at Camp CoBeAc in Prudenville, Michigan), September 6-8.
• Willis Baptist Church, Willis, Michigan (revival campaign), September 11-16.
• Fellowship Baptist Church, Clarklake, Michigan (tent meetings), September 18-21.
• Madison Baptist Church, Madison, AL (revival campaign), September 25-30.
On August 12, I was able to attend the funeral for our friend Dr. Earl Jessup, founder and leader of the Baptist Church Planting Ministry, who went to Heaven recently. It was held in Rogers, Arkansas, and was unquestionably one of the most powerful and helpful memorial services I have ever attended. I think you can watch it by going to the ministry website. We will miss Brother Jessup, but this very important work will continue under the able leadership of Evangelist Jeremy Rowland. Pray for him, and also for the Jessup family.
There is time yet to join the group going on THE REVIVAL TOUR OF ISRAEL (March 24-April 4, 2017) next year. It will be a revival conference held on a trip through the Holy Land where we will study revival from the Bible, and pray for it at the sites of where the greatest revival events occurred. It really is the trip of a lifetime, and some of you will want to pray about going, and/or sponsoring your pastor or somebody else to go. The Lord will lead and provide for folks to take the trip with us. We would love to have you, and hope you will pray that we will have a capacity-sized group. I have been asked again to be one of the teachers. You can get details on this trip by going to http://bcmedu.org/israel-tour.
I am excited, and I hope that you will be, to see how the Lord is burdening and leading Baptist preachers in the state of Michigan to organize many to seek God together for revival. There have been a couple of planning meetings already, and plans have been made to hold the Michigan Revival Conference in the Flint/Saginaw area, and then up north, next June. There is also a movement among the churches to set apart one day a month for a solemn day of fasting and prayer. Especially you friends in our state should take an interest in what God is doing in this matter, and pray for us.
As I said, my schedule and my ministry has been unusual this summer, but clearly directed by God for the current situation to further the cause of revival among fundamental Christians, although planned some time ago. For the first time since going out into itinerant ministry I am set to spend a lot of time in Michigan churches. This must have to do with the revival movement here.
Some of you have asked me if I am going overseas next year. Besides the revival tour of Israel, I am committed to make a trip to Ireland to help the churches there in the reviving of their revival! So pray for us. Thank you all for your love and prayers.
